President & chief scientific officer, Emulate

Prior to co-founding Emulate, Geraldine Hamilton was lead senior staff scientist with the Wyss Institute for Biologically Inspired Engineering at Harvard University. At the Wyss Institute, Hamilton led the Organs-on-Chips program and managed the team responsible for developing, translating and commercialising its technology. Organs-on-Chips product is a microchip embedded with microfluidic tubes, lined with human cells. Air, nutrients, blood and infection-causing bacteria can be pumped through the chips for scientific research. Prior to her tenure at Harvard, she spent more than 11 years in the pharmaceutical industry. Hamilton was also a co-founder of CellzDirect, a biotech startup that provided cell products to the pharmaceutical industry for testing.
